Welcome to 61BS--the site dedicated to BS from and about an ill-defined (and ill-conceived) group of graduates of the Big Spring High School Class of 1961, each of whom has passed an extremely porous qualification requirement that has more to do with tolerance of one another for brief periods than anything else.
First, about the list of participants: One of our more security-conscious members pointed out that not everyone wants to have his name plastered up for the picking on the Internet, so we decided to represent everyone throughout the site with first name and last initial, as you see it to the left. Since this is primarily a site by us and for us, the presumption is that everyone will know who everyone else is. Those who are on the list and want their full names displayed (or removed) can email us their wishes via the link below and we'll fix it to their specifications right away.
The purpose of this site is absolutely unclear. Mainly, it has come to pass because Tom Wi. never stops complaining once he has determined that someone else ought to do something. Thus, an almost complete lack of discrimination as to what goes up here will be evident from the start, from which point we will doubtless go downhill.
Navigating the site is easy. Just look to your right in the column entiled "Steering Around" (Get it?) You'll see links to various areas of interest, most of which, at least for now, will have little if anything in them for you to read or look at. Hopefully, this will change....but maybe not. As time goes by, we'll add new categories, but possibly not much more content, given the nature of our membership.
In the "Galleries ", we'll link to pictures or other artistic efforts that our members have sent us. It's a good way to see how everyone is holding up at the present, so that the shock is less when we get to the Reunions every 5 years.
We are serious, though, in our desire to give us all a place to stick information about ourselves up for our community of friends to see and think about. Email us your stuff. We'll figure out a place to put it.
